Membership of Abia American Association is open to all people of Abia State origin who meet the requirement of membership.

Membership shall be open to other Nigerians and other Nationalities who are willing to use their talents, knowledge, time and energy to serve the interests of Abia American Association and its people and if such member will honor the  rules and regulations of this association.

Membership shall remain valid as long as a member adheres to all applicable rules and regulations of the association, pays all required dues and levies and attend at least six (6) meetings during the year. Such members are fully eligible for all membership services, hence; they can be elected to office, participate as committee members, and all other benefits.

New members are on probation for six months. These members will have full rights and privilidges after a period of six months if they attend meetings regularly and pay their dues in full. New members can participate in deliberations and votes but cannot be elected to office during probation.
